Why We Started Sister Style in Zimbabwe

Why We Started Sister Style in Zimbabwe

Six years.

That's how long Sister Style lived in my notebook before it became a reality.

I kept waiting for the perfect moment. The perfect time. The perfect finances. The perfect circumstances.

But that moment never came.

Instead, God taught me something I will never forget:

Faith doesn't wait for perfect conditions. Faith moves anyway.

So I moved.

There's a verse I return to again and again:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
— Philippians 4:6-7

That peace; the kind that doesn't make sense on paper — is exactly what Sister Style was born from.

A Small Country With a Big God

Zimbabwe is small. You might not find it trending on global fashion runways. You might not see it celebrated in mainstream streetwear. But anyone who has been there — or carries it in their blood — knows something the world is still catching up to.

Zimbabwe is beautiful.

Not just in its landscapes, its sunsets, its wildlife. But in its people. In their warmth, their resilience, their laughter in the middle of hardship. In a country facing real economic challenges, God is still doing great things. And the people? They love deeply. They hold on. They keep going.

That's the Zimbabwe I know. That's the Zimbabwe I wanted to represent.

Beauty for Ashes

Sister Style is my beauty for ashes.

For six years, I carried this dream. I wrote it down. I planned it. I waited for the perfect moment to start — the right time, the right circumstances, the right everything.

The perfect moment never came.

And one day I realised — it never would. Because faith doesn't wait for perfect conditions. Faith moves anyway. So I moved.

Sister Style launched not because everything was ready. It launched because I finally was.

A Name That Carries a Vision

The name Sister Style was chosen with purpose — and with love.

I wanted to start this with my sister. She's not running the business day to day, but she is woven into its very name, its very DNA. Sister Style was always meant to be bigger than one person. The vision is that one day — when this brand grows into something physical, something you can walk into — she'll be there. Part of it. Present in it.

That day is coming. 🙏🏾

Until then, my family supports me from behind the scenes. My mum — my greatest supporter and my strength. My siblings — my backbone. They may not be in the spotlight, but Sister Style stands on their love and their prayers.

Faith That Walks, Not Just Talks

I'm not just inspired by faith — I'm walking in it. Every design, every product, every collection is an expression of something personal. Something I believe. Something I've lived.

When I put "As For Me & My Family We Will Serve the Lord" on a tee, that's not just a design. That's a declaration I make every day.

I wanted to share that with everyone who believes. With every person in the diaspora who wakes up in a foreign country and still holds their faith and their heritage close. Our heritage is a gift from God. And representing it gives me joy.
